survival series

it's cold out there. temps in the teens. brrrrrrrrr.... so stay warm, stay out of the wind, stay dry and comfortable. carbon monoxide detectors are a must have item if you heat with wood or coal. keep your axe and hatchet sharp and gloves are a good thing to have. warm sox and shoes
and a warm hat will help you from getting hypothermia. shovelling snow gives men heart
attacks .. hire the local kid to do it. ice is slippery ...stay off of thin ice . carry ice awls if you have to go out on the ice ...you can die in cold water in 3 minutes...

enough ranting. here is my message of the day. it is regards to the economy. gold and silver
have always been the money of the kings. gold especially. when all else fails, gold will get it
done. im not saying to hoard gold, but have a good supply on hand in case you need it...
beans, a jar full of beans can be worth their weight in gold ... when famine hit, dried beans will keep you farting your way to success. a man will sell his wife and kids if he is hungry enough to eat beans. starvation is an ugly way to die. just ask any fashion model ...

bullets . whats in your arsenal? are you prepared for the ravagers and marauders... they are out there looking at you wanting what you got. and they will try to take it from you by force. so get off your duff and defend yourself. buy gold, beans and bullets ... this message is sponsored by the american survivalist and anti anarchy league .

hot water... fill a hose up and put it on your roof facing the south . string ten hoses together and you get a hot shower that will get you clean. let it sit in the sun for 4 hours ,,, hot yes...

your neighbor is thinking about it. times are tough and he's out of food. he knows if he
can get your food, he'll be fed . you gonna hand it over to him? you going to mamby pamby
out on him? or are you gonna do what it takes to get him off your ass? you gonna protect your kids? are you? are you?

high voltage electrical fences run off your own generator. 10 thousand volts at 120 amps
will keep the wolves at bay . keep your home safe from intruders and marauders .

snow

snow fell today in central north carolina. the lines at wally werld were horrendous. we needed
a few items and the shelves were ravaged by hordes of hispanics toilet paper, bread, and meat aisles were pawed over. we came away with hot cocoa mix, tang and pretzels . we have a store of food we got over the summer when we were both working , again part of the survival instinct
kicking in . when i was in the wreck in september, on the first, im glad we had bought extra supplies. I lost my job because the doctors felt i was unable to out wrestle 250 lb. drunks
where i work due to the severity of the burns on my legs and stomach. i wanted to go back to work, but being sensible about my situation was quite a blow to me, emotionally and financially. ive healed up since then and have spent time at the va hospital in a reconditioning
program to increase my strength and endurance. and i like the whirlpool tubs there as well.
the nurses aren't half bad either...:^)
ive also posted pictures of an event i went to as a spectator. penny and i are now crew to a
balloon team. Hot air balloons are a blast. i have not flown yet as penny is the chief person
on the team, but i help in chasing the balloon and repacking it. we were going to go to an event yesterday, but it was cancelled due to poor weather. now maybe ill have to wait until spring to fly...:^(

you have to do what you can to make life better for those people you love and who care about you. truth be told, i regret a lot of things ive done in life, or left undone. so i still have to keep on keeping on.

christmas isn't far away. and i miss my family alot. so if you hear from them , you'll be a lot more informed than i am. my sister moved somewhere. i never got a change of address on them. my nephew and niece got married sometime this past year. and life goes on.

so merry christmas to whoever you are where ever you are and whatever you are doing.
i hope your new year is better than last year and lisa , you owe me a dollar....

survival dash dot dash dash

greetings this second day of december 2010 . i come to you to talk again about survival skills. with the recent volatile situation in Korea, it behooves me to again go back to the board to discuss the basic skills

I myself have no escape plan. Surprised? Ha, i don't plan on surviving . Having
seen this world for so long, i figure i'll say so long, adios, fare the well and go dig
a trench pit and cover it with cedar logs and a tarp and cover that with dirt. inside
ill build a brick and ceramic fireplace so i'll at least stay warm in the final hours
ten feet wide and 20 feet long and eight feet down with steps and a door and a thick
cement wall with rebar reinforcement. i will put my cot near the wall and my food on a table with my lantern and a jug of wine. only certain people need to show up
because for the most part, if you get caught out there, then you'll probably not
make it. ... --- .... .. .... ... hiho
on a personal note. my legs are healing from the burns , its been a very painful experience , the blisters and scarring on top of the mess i had last year.
im off the pain meds , and still if you light a match across the room i feel the
heat from where im sitting. the doctor assures me that this will fade in time ...

so it's near christmas , and just past thanksgiving. Ive been invited to attend a party over in statesville nc, a christmas party and balloon flight .. maybe ill just
jump from five thousand feet or so...watch me fly...

greetings. im to be 53 on saturday. who cares. well after crashing my truck thanks to one of my neighbors running me off the road on sept 01st of this year, i decided i was lucky to only have a
cracked collarbone and 3 separated ribs and second degree burns where the heater core exploded
onto my legs and an old injury aggravated (lower right back, sciatic nerve area) so im a real lucky
guy. i took the polygraph when the po po didn't believe my story and passed it. still po po won't
charge the other driver, because he is a bigwig in local politics (READ DEMOCRAT) so i have to
get a lawyer after all to go civil on this guy. funny thing, the polygraph is not admissable in criminal trials, but carries weight in civil trials and my lawyer can ask the judge to give the case over to the DA's office for prosecution at the end (judges choice) . screwed up from the word go--->
me i walk with my cane and the burns are almost healed up , but i can hardly stand to take a hot
shower because the nerve endings are still sensitive
a friend of mine who received bad burns on his torso a number of years back says even now he can
feel the heat of a cup of hot coffee ten feet away. He helped me deal with some of the pain by focusing on it and some self hynosis .
the other day i noticed when i was thirty miles away from home a guy following me around from place to place . no i wasn't being paranoid , but i was being followed . i was in durham nc that day
and i cornered the guy at dicks sporting goods store. He is a friend of the polecat that ran me off the road. Now i m not a believer in co inky dink . i asked him why he was following me around and he told me that NELSON BOWERS at 2237 VAN THOMAS ROAD in PITTSBORO NC
is a man of bad temper and i should consider not FUCKING WITH HIM.
OHHHH BOY!!
You picked the wrong man to mess with . I don't scare easily . Pain and i are old friends
No brag, just fact . ive been through a lot , done a lot , been hurt a lot, and still people ask how i make it through life .
My answer is and has always been that one man suffered it all for me Need i say more?

People with bad tempers lose it very often. that makes them vulnerable and predictable . in dealing with such individuals the fact that they lose their temper so easily is an opening for the
opponent to take advantage and win the battle . the person with the bad temper uses bad
judgement in making decisions SUN TSU the art of war

Anyone know a good lawyer???

Who takes what?

On september 1st i was driving to the gas station to get gas for mowing and was run off the road
by one of my neighbors, a big yuckity muck in the local democratic party. Yuckity muck was driving over the center line in a large truck as he rounded a curve , and instantly i said to myself, wow, this is really going to hurt as i swerved to get out of his way, and ended up slamming into a culvert at the edge of a neighbors driveway at 55 miles per hour destroying my truck, separating 3
ribs and cracking my collarbone . the yuckity muck pulled into his driveway, reversed his course and came back. He stared at me through the windshield for a good five minutes , probably to see if
i was still alive. I called out for help and he said someone else could call 911 . The lady whose culvert i ended up in, eventually called 911 and the rescue squad arrived a few minutes later and got me out on a backboard and neck brace and took me to the hospital.

Its been an ordeal. i have burns on my legs from the exploding radiator as it tore through the firewall and the rescue squad captain said if my airbag had gone off, i would have probably not survived the accident , but i was wearing my seatbelt as i always do. now, im having back pain and muscle spasms and the local fuzz have been following me around every time i go anywhere.
yuckity muck split the scene and has denied he caused the wreck because leaving the scene of an accident is a felony in north carolina. ...little does yuckity muck know that im going to take a polygraph and present it to my lawyer and state troopers and all heck is gonna break loose here
in north carolina. see what yuckity muck has to say then...

Survival series

greetings readers. summer has been a blast, a real heatwave here , 39 days of 90 + temperatures.
today is saturday august 7th. penny's birthday is in two days and i had to be creative this year
due to lack of funds. i made her a very nice web belt so she can carry her new duluth pack
she got for her ballooning . she wanted a GPS system, but unfortunately it were not in the
budget this year.
HYDRATION : water is the best. sweet stuff only drags you down. Heat cramps? mustard sandwiches
pickle relish and bananas and believe it or not raspberries...razzleberries are good any time..

so im getting ready for more stuff... medically speaking. my legs seem to be breaking out again with this yuck
its a matter of time before ill get an infection again and lose more skin. but im not going to let it get me down.
Staph and strep infections can only kill you once....

this leads me to a little story that happened to me last night. Beebop, my female black laborador retriever
has this problem. She doesn't like snakes , especially big ones . last night she was outside going completely berserkers
and i knew from the tone of her barking there was a snake in her area. we've had a problem this year (well for a few years
in fact, with various snakes , black snakes, copperheads, cotton mouths and massasaugas (cane brake rattlesnakes) and one
coral snake that was in a pine tree out back . i loaded up the shotgun and grabbed the big lantern and found she had treed a very
large blacksnake in her tree. and when i say large, i mean five feet long and a head as big as my fist and as big around as a motorcycle tire
now ive seen big snakes here . i got nailed by a big blacksnake years ago on my left shoulder as i went to unreel the garden hose i have
wrapped around a tire rim hanging on my electrical service pole. i about shot my pants when it bit me on the shoulder. shot is shit with one O
for those in the know , and snakes do have needle sharp teeth and sixty pounds per square inch bite pressure and it bled a lot. i still
have a nasty scar from it. so ONCE BITTEN TWICE SHY. i don't take chances even though the blacksnakes do keep the rats down.
i fired two shots with the 410 knowing if i didn't , the dog would have kept making noise until the big snake was out of her territory. so i killed it
the snake . today ill skin it and tack it up and dry the skin and maybe use it sometime. now the copperheads have made a nest out front in the drainage pipe under the road . big old chunks (what they call them here because their heads are triangular and chunky ) maybe
ill get a few of them and skin them and use the skins for covers on knife sheathes ill be making this fall...until next time ...adios

more time less governance

another rant ... golly the oil spill in the gulf has affected my life in ways you cant imagine. BP is
responsible, but will declare bankrupted before its over and done with. yeah they are our allies, in war and in peace, but they screwed up the gulf so much, they need to be taught a lesson. we don't need obama taking his time to get mad about it. they need to cap that wellhead and plug it. fast..

the poor sealife and animals there. turtles, pelicans and fish, shrimps and other sealife that was abundant there will die. its bad enough that the spanish and japanese have overfished the areas and some species of fish are near extinction.. we're next...

what we really need is

1. less government regulation and legislation
2. Alien registration and zero tolerance for illegal immigants committing crimes in our country
3. Free medical care for american citizens
4. a consumer based taxation code replacing income taxes (flat tax)
5. An end to the internal revenue service
6. revisiting a Draft system for selective service in the united states military for a three year period
7. more government oversight of the PAC s and banking industry
8. jail sentences for banking officials that defraud their customers with unethical practices
9. less intrusive social services programs and panels to decide disability claims
10. free legal services for american citizens for administrative law(disability, malpractice and non criminal law services)
11. an end to the electoral college, the most votes in each state wins

too little too late

illegal aliens of hispanic descent , beware ...your buddies the democrats are on their way out of office . they bailed out the money grubbers and for that they will pay. this coming election will
come down to what they did to the american people. i hope you can respect that mr. fatcat car man on the tube.
mi amigos mexicali , vamanos and dont come back. thats what the word is from arizona. take your drug cartels back with you. americans are sick and tired of you coming to this country, committing crimes and playing stupid when the police start asking questions. it s the law and the law works to protect people , citizens of our country. to the legal people of hispanic descent here in this country.
its a tough measure to take, indeed. but you and your families are here legally so you should not have to worry about it. they only want the illegal aliens deported , the criminals and the people who come here to cause trouble and break our laws. . to those who do break the laws. all i can say is
ADIOS

trying to make it

okay i was stupid again, and it cost me ... i was riding the lawnmower around a tree and didnt duck fast enough and fractured my skull and had a nasty concussion from it. and i bruised my brain, not that it helped me any. i spent a few days on the sidelines, dizzy, in pain and not able to think clearly
or do things i could normally do. the doctor told my wife i needed to be supervised more in my day to day activities , thanks a lot dipstick... so im back to myself. and trying to keep my wife off my a&& about using powertools (chainsaws etc.) she rides me a lot, and i m thinking about checking into adult day care to get her off my ass . jeez she treats me like im 70 ..im only 53 ...hey why dont you put me in a nursing home while your at it....

sorry to inform the democrats,,, you had your chance,,, you too republicans... im a conservative
libertarian who believes in less government, greater constitutional adherance and less interference into my life by the government, by way of taxes and regulation. im a survival expert. a master of the olde school, a reader and doer of extraordinary feats. i can find water, live off the land, make a warm shelter and keep my wits about me. and my spirit is strong as a boulder. i 've winnowed gold
panned for gold, sluiced for gold and gold is the only money ill need when it all collapses around you. my advise is buy gold if you can afford it or find a creek or stream where you can work for it . see its there. i know it. ive collected a few nuggets so far and i won't say where but theres a lot more where this came from...

stories from my past

I have to say im sorry to a lot of folks. in my old age, i tend to forget what is important to people
that i care about.

had she lived, my moms birthday was yesterday. she died from cancer. she died from cervical cancer and now i know why. she got a virus. a very bad virus. thats all im going to say.

there are carriers of this virus. be careful...it kills...

stories from my past

Survival series

I was asked to republish this by a person i love and trust.

Lose your rights in ten easy steps

1 elect self serving politicians into positions of leadership
2 forget about going to the polls on election day because your vote doesn't really matter
3send your children to schools that have a mindset that free thinking and self expression are wrong, and civil rights is a thing of the past.

4 continue to allow school administrations that allow police free access to student records and parental records , the ability to question those students without benefit of counsel or parental consent.

5 allow congress and senate to pass sweeping legislation and then say its for the good of the public, because we all know they know whatis best for us.

6 forget to attend public meetings to voice your opinioon on crucial issues that affect you, your
family, community, or state or nation,

7 continue to let health care administrators make life and death decisions on behalf of people who have no advocacy or voice in thier treatment, because they know what is best for all of us...

8 allow big business to form "Public policy" and create new laws and regulations to protect their Assets . after all the top one percent of large corporations have gotten to the top by providing services to the public, honestly, without corruption and fairly. right?

9 always believe what the government tells the meadia

10 believe what corporate controlled media puts out on the public interest.

disagreeable yes...

Okay it's finally happened, a shot across my bow (on my imaginary boat) . Just because i might
disagree with some people over political things does not make me a terrorist. I have an opinion
just like everyone else has an opinion, but to stoop so low and call me a terrorist? that takes a lot
of nerve... I think government has gotten way out of hand and only serves itself, not the people of this great country as it should. the "I'm right, you're wrong" mentality and you're a terrorist because you believe in things i don't agree with is off base and absurd. is that the best you can come up with??? next I'll be labeled as being Un american, because i am a firm believer in rights and responsibility and our constitution and bill of rights. I also agree we need to be safe and secure, but there is a reasonable and practical way to be safe and secure without being delusional or paranoid about it. keep your slander and slurs to yourselves. im a patriotic person. i served my country, right or wrong. thats what matters. bye

hunting accidents down for 2009

hunting accidents were down in 2009 according to national statistics . 219 accidental shootings resulting in 19 deaths. not listed were accidents involving other means, accidental falls from deerstands, animal attacks, and the run of the mill accidents such as falls, broken or sprained ankles or cuts using an axe or hatchet or knife, something I'm well aware of since i did have an accident slicing open a milk jug full of ice for an outing which resulted in three stitches and a cut artery in my thumb.
this year, the season starts with turkey season in a few weeks . turkey hunters are a different breed from deer hunters, we're quiet, stationary and have to be careful, not shooting at anything
that moves. we are a serious bunch. alcohol plays a large part of unreported accidents. hunting and
drinking dont mix. never have and never will. i know a few drunkards who hunt. not on my land...

how it won't work... this health care plan

you want to buy a car. okay. you pay a thousand dollars a month and a thousand down and you can pick the car up in four years..

that doesnt sound like a good deal to me. ...you?

so they don't have to vote on it. thats a new one on me. yeah force it down our throats mrs pelosi
its a bitter pill and youre the princess of addled brained dc .

make me a criminal , come on. i don't have it dont want it and youll fine me a thousand dollars because i dont but you better be able to make the charges stick. what will the charges be

failure to be able to afford health insurance. Being poor. ??? why dont you buy it for me mrs pelosi? you can afford it.. Paah...go away your'e a nuisance

spring gobblers

april 10th , a day that will be a lot of fun. a whole weekend of turkey hunting in the mountains
near here. my health has improved over the past few weeks and the doctors all have given their official okey dokey as long as i stay in good condition. walking exercising and using the treadmill
have helped. ill be staying in my camper and ill have to take it easy, sort of slow and easy, but if i die there , it wouldn't bother me one bit. i look at it like this. I've lived a good life up until last september when i got sick. ive had good days and not so good days and some days where i could barely move. but i have tried to keep a positive mental attitude. each day i reach a small goal in order to go on to the next goal. then again ill have others with me and things will go a lot better for me because one of them will be a doctor i invited. ....

judge not lest ye ..

soon ill be a criminal , that's the government for you, you mindless sheep. you wanted change and your stuck with it.

ive always considered myself a good person, i love my wife, and my family wherever they may be
no matter if i happen to like them or not. i do love them. I thank my parents for giving me a good
Christian upbringing, despite their faults and shortcomings, and i would like to say that in time
id be more thankful for understanding more than they gave me credit for.

so im going to be a criminal. and i cannot stomach the notion that I'm being forced into having to go this route, but what can i do?

the new rules, as the government has dictated to us is we have to have health insurance. If we
don't have health insurance the a fine will be accessed against us for not doing so.

A thousand dollar fine.... thats a lot of money to us. we live from paycheck to paycheck, just barely able to put food on the table, pay the electric bills, the taxes we owe and the mortgage.
and now they say NO INSURANCE? Pay up this fine of a thousand dollars. its a crime not to have insurance now. look i pay car insurance, home owners insurance and the highest tax es for gasoline in the country, well almost the highest taxes , anyway. Im disabled and can't work. I wish i could go back to work, and then maybe i could afford health insurance . but what job would have me? i cant stand for more than a few minutes, i can barely breathe at times, and i
have days where i cough all day and night long for days on end. its called emphasemia and its
not a joking matter.
maybe the tobacco companies could pay the fine for me. but i doubt they will. addiction to nicotine is the worst possible thing to have to kick. ive tried a hundred times to quit. the patch the gum, the new pills. nothing works for me. but smoking isn't the only cause. ive had bad lungs since i was a teenager , the problems went undiagnosed ( misdiagnosed )as allergies for a long time. now they call it copd.

so im going to be guilty of not having heath insurance. big deal right? i wonder if it will be a felony????

on the trail

he stood stooped down, eyeing the deer seventy yards away when the buffalo raised his massive head and snorted a warning of danger. but the deer did not speak buffalo nor did the buffalo speak the deers tongue, and the hunter nocked his arrow and brought down the buffalo with a single shot.
the hunter stood over his quarry and proceeded to skin the massive animal, and stopped to build
a fire to smoke the hide and cook a small bit of meat, enough to satisfy his hunger for a few hours.

he draped the massive hide over the fire to dry it and after a few hours he took it down and scraped the browned fat from it little by little until he splayed the hide over the stretcher cut from willow, stretching it tightly to continue to dry from the smoke. he worked on the massive skull and chipped a large enough hole to cut the brain from it and he took water to mix with the brain for tanning the hide later. the man rested then, eating some more of the meat and packing all he could carry in his packs and he brought his horse up and folded the smoked skin and tied it with a strand of leather to the back of his horse and rode off leaving the bones for the vultures and coyotes to fight over, that being the way of nature.

the man rode for many hours, stopping twice to ice down his meat to keep it cold in the leather packs . when he reached his home in the trees , he tied his horse and handed the skull to his woman and pointed to the hide of buffalo. he tended to the meat, salting it and curing it and
lit small fire to smoke the remainder of the good meat he'd brought to his home and cooked some for his woman and children on the open pit. they would not starve this winter because he had made the right choice in taking the buffalo. his woman worked the hide for weeks to come
and make him a warm coat. he gave her his old coat and took the new coat and wore it with pride at her workmanship , how well it fit him and how warm it was. she smiled at his praise
and wore his old coat. such was the way of man to give to his woman and to his children.
his child recieved her old coat and so on down the line things were given. they ate the good
meat, drank clear water from the well and lived in their home in the trees for many years to come

wellwe had seven inches of snow and two inches of ice on top of the snow over the weekend. ive stayed inside for most of the time. i only ventured out to water the dogs a bit ago. vitamin d and sunshine ...go figure
its been cold. 11 degrees last night and only 34 today. tomorrow night more freezing rain and
sleet. ice storm... great. me. im staying warm. i have the woodstove in case the lights go out. theyve flickered a few times already. but so far so good.
may i say its been a cold winter here. 23 days above the freezing mark and barely that..stay warm..

Survival series

again it has happened. six people die in midwest snow storm from exposure

it doesnt need to happen. never ever. energy share could have prevented this from happening

okay sometimes i say the wrong thing and piss people off, but this is the 21st century and people should not freeze to death in their own homes...in my home i have a supplimental form of heat. i have a nice wood stove in my garage that does nicely to keep us warm during bad weather. power
outages aside, you can stay warm .. layering and clothes help. a friend of ours showed us a neat trick for her gas log system that allowed her to cook and heat her living room and it cost her less to do it than you might imagine. a simple steel box she had made fits over the burners of her gas ports, and it gets hot fast. she cooked meals on it, boiled water in less than 5 minutes with it and it heated the room up and vented the noxious fumes right up the chimney and all during a five day period where there was no power. she said it got so hot in the room she had to turn it off for 8 hours to get the room to cool down to 78 degrees and during the worst ice storm and blizzard weve had in over 100 years here. ..good one robin...

so staying warm is a factor. ive been cold , i know what cold is, believe me. in the service they sprayed us down with cold water as we stood outside in 40 degree temps. i ve swam in the north atlantic for hours in frigid temps and have been in water so cold that specific dangling bits
try to crawl back up inside the body to get warm .. this summer past, i was packed in ice to bring
my temperature back down..rockie mountain spotted fever is a bitch... so i know what cold is. ive also had frost bite a time or two but thawed out okay, now i have to watch it

my things

my things...

i have a few things, nothing major

a truck or two, a tractor in need of repair
a house that needs work, a life that needs less despair

what can i say. ive been a man for some time now
men accumulate things. too bad its all a waste.

ive got bed, some blankets that are warm
ive got shoes, and slippers, fleecy coats and hunting clothes

ive got a lot compared to some and not lot compared to others

ive got 3 things you cant buy

survival series

Sometimes we get ahead of ourselves . in the past i've cautioned about being bullheaded about certain aspects of survival in these trying times. And yes, you can learn the basics easily
enough, but putting what you've learned to practical use can sometimes be frustrating. especially
if things go wrong. when i was in the service, we had a name for this phenomena mr. murphy
of murphy's law . if things can go wrong, invariably they will. . . nine times out of ten thing go right. the engine starts up , the process works. but that one time... that one instance. and occams razor
also fits into the equation. its usually the simplest thing that proves to be the truth.

today i had my share of mr. murphy. and its an expensive fix. the head gasket on my tractor
blew out. i need it for my garden this spring, so im looking at several $ to repair the parts. and then my truck battery was dead this morning... and now the weather is going south on us.

so i grin and bear it. as best i can.

i hope your day was better than mine... peace

this is a good time to talk about a few things. first water is on my mind. fresh, clean
drinking water is essential to a healthy lifestyle. all to often here in north carolina
i have heard about wells being polluted with lead and arsenic in them. have your
water tested . usually if you live in an affected area, the health department or ag service can do it either for free or for a small fee. thats all for toinight have a great day tomorrow...peace

mary margaret and the happy hippy

she , happy go lucky, free spirited, wild.

him a hippy a silly stoned smile.

together they made a funny funky couple its true,

in time they found out the truth

maybe a baby , maybe a child

carefree and loving together and a new life

worked hard, every chance they had

the rent, the mortgage, the bills they paid

the layoff, and the foreclosure

the dream gone sour

you're never home, she said

you're always mad, he said

she said, he said, what do you say?

im gone, she said. gone far away.

she took the baby and left

he found shelter in the woods

and he lives on roots and rotted vegetables

gleaned from the grocery store dumpster

he grew weak and cold, his face aged and he became sick

she came back and found him there

im sorry i left you, she said in the rain

but his face was empty no more in pain

she cried and left and to this day, she doesnt smile anymore

poor mary margaret , she sits all alone, cold weary boned

thinking of her hippy man and the world moved on

haiti

haiti, wow what devastation. the millions in our taxes we send every year as foreign aid won't do a lot to help those poor folks. prayers help, at least thats my opinion , even though the violence will boil over from the gangs there very quickly. these gangs wield machetes and their violence has never solved any social problems only created more problems. the whole problem is far beyond my understanding , its history, haiti's history, none of its good. we left virginia a while ago when the haitian gangs started up in the tidewater area. we had a problem with the housing project behind the apartment where we lived. someone killed our cat and rocky was a good cat. they were trying to make a point. penny (my wife) kept me from taking matters into the wrong direction. i don't usually back down, but this time it was the best thing i did . really, there were more of them than there were of me... lesson learned

Survival series

okay so i write poetry too. so do a lot of my friends and family. i write a lot of stuff. 3 unpublished books a few short stories. so what. i read a lot and i write a lot more . depends on my mood
deanne i love ya kiddo.

shes a great writer. she has a dark side to her as i guess we all do. but she's more than family , shes a mommy a writer, a wife and a scholar. she wears a lot of hats and does a great job of it. her husband works a lot and shes got to take on a lot with her kids, my hats off to her

that being said, i can get back to the main point this evening.

generators are great. they provide needed electricity when the lights go out. years ago, we survived a hurricane and no power for 9 days. back then i didnt need a generator, but living out here in the middle of the wilderness you have to be consious of things, like water and keeping
frozen food cold and days without power can mean death for some folks.

i already gave a history of my summer past. i contracted rocky mountain spotted fever
and nearly died from it. i lost some weight, had to have surgery to fix a few problems from
the illness. and im still recovering. its a long slow process, and it being the winter has slowed me down only that much more .
a generator can provide for electricity for heat, for a radio, or recharging batteries if you use solar ... go green i say.. green brown black and tan.. camouflage is my favorite color..

buying a generator is expensive. set up is simple, but if you tie it in to your house, hire an electrician for two hours to get it set up properly, don't be a dummy like someone i know...

we got one on sale and with a 20 percent discount as it was the floor model... best buy..
it eats a gallon and a half of unleaded gas every eight hours so a five gallon gas can is good to
have. dont run it in your cars garage, carbon monoxide is a killer. i had to lock mine down, as its portable and there be thieves in my area who'll steal anything electrical or copper.. make sure it has oil in the oil case, dont want to screw it up ...

for d.

lonesome

loneliness cuts us
it eats away at us, bit by bit

they come they go
they come again, they go again

like the tide
in and back out
back in and out again
all on the winds of time

i lost people,
places, friends and loved ones
my mind is going too.

i used to be a young man
i felt things, i learned about things
now i'm an old man
i spend my time alone, with no place to go.
i sit on the bench thinking about time
no one to love me anymore

time takes from us. it is a thief
it lingers and steals our lives from us,
our souls , our hopes and dreams
time is the enemy
it doesn't give to us
it only takes away.

i was a young man once
a long time from now
now my beard is gray.
my vision was always to be happy
but time stole it away from me.
like everything else

please accept my apology

i been feeling out of sorts lately. my last blog i put out was mean spirited and uncalled for. i apologize ..

given the fact that its winter here now, the temperature outside here is 19 degrees in the shade , lets talk about ice. ice is the solidified form of frozen water. it occurs when the temperature falls to below 32 degrees, ice can be used to cool things off, it can be used on sprained ankles to reduce swelling , but just because it's ice doesnt make it safe to drink. cold temps dont kill germs microbes or viruses. heat is the only thing that will do that. me, i prefer steam distilled water . its been boiled and purified . water can be distilled by using a pressure cooker, a piece of sanitized garden hose and a jar of ice water ... you can figure it out easily enough.
boil it and hook the hose to the spout, run it through the icebath to condense it and you get distilled water. purify it using sand and ceramic and charcoal filters. and collect it in a clean jug.
i use old wine jugs i salvaged and got corks for. beats buying it at the store for 2 bucks a gallon

next lets take a moment to remember to prevent fires. January is a bad month for fires. faulty heaters, kerosene heaters and candles cause hundreds of fires every year. carbon monoxide is a killer too. get you a detector if you use heating oil, kerosene or a woodstove..

so good luck to you this year... next time... how to really make your wife happy... new sex secrets revealed

Survival series

greetings and happy new year

today is sunday and its cold out side this morning for the 3rd day of january 2010.

im sitting here trying to encompass a thought or two about survival. and ive come up with a fascinating thought. come the day the shit hits the fan, i won't give two rats asses about anyone but myself. sorry. its me . its not you. you might be a wonderful kind person , warm , giving and caring. but i won't let you stand in my way. i won't feel sorry for you, i won't take
pity or have mercy on you. thats my thought for the day. stay the hell out of my way
