Survival series

a few days ago, i heard about a terrorist trying to detonate a bomb of some sort on an airliner. this disturbs me deeply. there is a war out there and we americans are viable targets.

they want us dead. they want nothing more than to kill us. each and every one of us.

thats a bitter pill to have to swallow. what did i do to incur the wrath of someone i don't know? i paid my taxes, and their government received foreign aid from my tax dollars and yet they want to kill me? i don't understand the logic here.

i'm an equal opportunity bigot. i don't like anyone. i have been instructed to love my fellow man in the bible, so be it. i love you, but that doesn't mean i have to like you very much. if at all .

Dehydrated foods... i have a dehydrator, i wish i had two of them. yesterday i began dehydrating bananas . i dehydrate apples, i make dried beef and venison jerky when i get a chance . im learning about the process, im trying to dehydrate potatoes, but itsa long and hard process to do. it takes a lot of time to smoke meat and dry it . i have good recipes and will continue to dry my foods as best i can and place them in the emergency food tubs ive bought recently.

canned goods have a good shelf life of 2 to 3 years. that says to me i have at least that long to use them. what i fear is the united states will be attacked again by terrorists. and the big attack is coming soon. i have a good supply of water from a deep well. i have food ive dehydrated. boil some water and add some dried beef and let it cook for a while add a few vegetables and you have soup.. nutritious and it costs less than store bought, trail shop mixes that cost 12 dollars or so for a meal.
so you want to find out more go to usa dot gov, or usda.gov . they can get you information, or could on everything from safe food prep to survival during disasters .. peace and a joyous new year to you..

survival series

okay. major storms this week across the usa, 63 percent of the country has snow or ice on the ground. a new record from what i was told. it brings me to a very important point. preparedness is the key to survival. a prepared person, keeps their head about them , they don't panic and they think it through. . .

my wife gives me heck until the lights go out and we have to live in a world where there is no heat, no light and no food, that is until i get the generator going, the woodstove going and pull out the emergency supplies i have in backpacks. then she's grateful she married a man that doesn't
feel the need to say the sky is falling the sky is falling.....

we lived seven days in our garage by the woodstove a few winters ago during an ice storm and blizzard that hit us and knocked the power out for 7 days straight
think of it as camping out. i said as the outdoor temperatures dipped down to below twenty degrees at night. we had a great time cooking and snuggling to pass the time away. . there was no way out. 25 inches of snow and ice made certain we stayed fairly close to the garage. we used melted ice to bathe in. a five gallon bucket in the shower, its exhilerating to say the least
ive lived in the cold areas up north, dug snow caves and cut igloos , ice fished and hunted
for game nearly all of my life, all my adult life at least.
new york, in the great lakes and finger lakes region, the cold weather capital of the country. ive been in michigan in the cold too. minnesota was a trip. and believe me, i was born in the midwest, raised there and saw animals frozen in their tracks there at 30 degrees below zero...one winter day. i felt the blizzard of 68 that hit the northeast, and lived to tell about it. ..no brag just fact. and each time i make it through these things i know deep down that a lot of folks didnt... oh by the way merry christmas friends

Survival series

yes its winter time and a major blizzard hit the interior areas of north carolina all the way up the
eastern seaboard. how many people died? more than needed to, i expect.

BLIZZARD means stay home, stay warm, have a backup generator so you have heat and
can boil water for coffee. . power lines go down. a generator can run your heater. install a woodstove and keep plenty of fire wood on hand.

STAY PUT!
travelling in a blizzard should only be done by emergency personnel. fire police rescue squad

if you get trapped, you can die quickly and they won't find you until the spring thaw. the buzzards circling overhead will show the authorities where your corpse is. . always carry id..
so they can identify your stupid ass when they find you

if you have to be outside, dress appropriately for the weather. shorts and sandals in 20 degree temperatures spells disaster. if you go out, layer accordingly . gloves, hat, sunglasses
these things are a must. stay properly hydrated. water is the fluid that is your antifreeze

do not burn charcoal indoors. carbon monoxide is a killer..... invest in a snuggly warm sleeping bag. get naked with a friend under the covers to share body heat

major winter storm

the south east, namely the carolinas was plunged into a snowy mess today at 11 44 am as snow and sleet began to fall. temperatures hovered around the freezing mark, signaling the first major snow event for this winter season.
i personally am going to put my quilted wooby on. so i wooby warm ...i'd advise others to stay indoors , 4 to 12 inches expected (says WRAL's weather geeks) lots of coffee , hot cocoa and keep warm . be safe...

oops he did it again

mr. prez obama did it again. he fell into nancy pelosi's trap. he's gonna bankrupt us even more. here comes the war tax , thirty trillion more tax dollars for more big government. bigger isnt better
cancer starts small and gets bigger. doesn't make it good. i hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving and i hope you said a prayer to god giving thanks for all the good you have, and all the bad you don't , but will soon ...

survival series... im dehydrating the last few days. fresh fruits and meat.. jerky and smoked meats.. and whatever else i can preserve . theres a ring around the moon tonight. snow saturday???

Survival series

grouse, prairie chickens, rabbits, , wild goats and feral hogs, id like to explain what is good to eat in the wilderness. lets face it. if you're out there lost, sooner or later you are gonna get hungry.
weve dealt with shelter, the smaller the better. weve dealt with water purification, using sand and wet grass and charcoal layered in a soda bottle with 2 layers of each. and weve discussed building a fire to stay warm and shelter to stay dry. food is the last thing you really need to worry about. but
now its time to talk about food. you need to conserve ammo , make each shot count. meat is protein
and its what your body needs. to maintain good health. . . sick animals should be avoided. fish is good to eat. squirrels are tasty, but you'll starve to death fast by eating only squirrels . dove, a bird is good to eat, so you don't have a firearm? find a stick a curved one will work and throw it. make sure it has some bulk to it. snares can snag animals. fishhooks and line are easily carried in the container in your survival knife... don't ell me you don't have a survival knife... buy one. a large knife can do more than a small knife include chop down a tree , a survival knife made out of 420 steel with a saw on the backing, a compass and a little kit for fishing line and some hooks in the handle is the way to go. look at the boyscout fieldbook read it and learn . practice what you learned and put it to practical use outside in the woods. learn the plants and trees. learn how and you'll make it pilgrim... my ancestors were the pioneers that crossed this country looking for land, water and freedom . its in my blood. later

finally something done right

the Prez said it. five terrorists to be brought to new york city for trial ... congrats Mr. Prez, you got it right this time. now if you could sort out the acorn fiasco and send some frauds to jail over that, and still withhold federal funds from their coffers that might be nice as well.

terrorist

nidal malik hasan ... that's his name, so now what do we do with him. the buzz is that he deserves to die. but if he dies he becomes a martyr ... already in some areas of the middle east and in taliban controlled pakistan and afghanistan, lebanon, syria, and iran , he is being hailed as a hero for killing american infidels . his claim to fame isn't over yet. it's only getting started. As a practicing psychiatrist he's undoubtedly going to go for a temporary insanity plea, failing that he'll claim that being a muslim it is his religious obligation to bring war to the infidels and kill them, as provided for by his religious reading and interpretation of the koran, leading me to believe that he'll claim religious persecution against him because of his actions.
the last thing we need is to make this murderer into a martyr, executing him will elevate him to that status. to his philistine brothers , he is already a hero. banners with his name will appear in demonstrations, calling for his release on religious freedoms, count on it. the best thing is to imprison him for the rest of his life with no parole and let him sweat at hard labor , incommunicado until he dies of natural causes. make him dissappear into a hole until the world forgets about him, although many families will never ever forget who he was or what he did to screw up their family life and situations. and the loss of good american men and women... but i do hope that one day, Mr. Hasan, that when you cross over the line from life to death, you will be the first in line to be judged and sent to a private part of hell. and only because you took lives and destroyed them, and as a doctor, you took an oath to protect and preserve life and to do no harm , well doctor, you failed in that, as you failed in life, you failed to keep a lot of oaths, to preserve defend and protect the constitution . i guess oaths don't mean a lot to you...

foreign nutjobs in my military

okay , we were warned about foreign nutjobs in the ranks and its happened, a palastinian Hence forth known as a philistine killed american soldiers and it's been proven that he went to the same mosque as a couple of the 911 hijackers . what more evidence do we need??? I say tell it like it is. the man was a terrorist, no doubt in my mind on that one. He shouted allahu akbar and opened fire on unarmed soldiers, thankyou president clinton for that major kufup . there ought to be armed
guards at every installation in the us, they ought to be armed to the teeth and inside every military building we the people own, in my humble opinion. protecting what we have , protecting lives and
killing terrorists that attack innocent people in the name of allah.

okay given the benefit of the doubt, muslims have gotten a bad rap in our military. they should all be discharged immediately, rounded up and placed in a safe environment where they can be interviewed and find out what the problem is. yes officers and men , born here in america have problems with muslims in the ranks. but its because the muslims defy orders, claim special priveleges because they cannot conform to taking orders from white devils and infidels .
but hey muslims, the prez is a muslim. you can't take orders from him? . Im getting tired of this bull poopy ... really tired of it , and thanks to the infidel female police officer who shot the philistine , and stopped him from killing even more innocents, she deserves a presidential medal of honor . shes a hero and deserves a parade in her honor. as soon as she is healed up enough i'd like to meet her and shake her hand and thank her for taking that animal down.

Survival series

Nothing tests your skills like being out there and putting your skills to work for you. Practice makes perfect and I've had a lot of practice here lately. Muzzle loading rifle hunters, you can start
a fire using a cotton ball and your rifle . pack the ball down on you powder and fire it at the ground, the powder will burn it. I've also used a flare gun to light a fire in an emergency .

hand sanitizer is flammable . put some on a cotton ball and light it up for a hot fast fire. a big fire will draw attention from an overhead plane

Monday, November 9, 2009

what is wrong with this scenario

its the middle of the day and some guy in arabic garb walks into the building screaming "ALLAHU
AKBAR " and starts shooting people ???? another nutjob has attacked a military base, and i stayed quiet about itfor a few days not saying anything about it. i wanted to know the facts first
Look i don't care what god you pray to. my concern is for what your god tells you
to do, who to do it to and what weapon to use when you do it . to the families of the dead and injured, you have my prayers. I know there are muslims serving in the military , in our military ..
but, i think its time we take a closer look at them, especially in a time of war. the arabs think we are the great satan, infidels to be killed, fatwas have been issued and this is only the beginning of the muslim problem. only the beginning. this can only get worse, because there is the belief that muslims cannot control their selves, their passionate hatred for infidels. its drummed into their heads from an early age, hatred for america, listen to what is being taught in the madrassas . they are the worst kind of hillbillies there are , these mountain men from wherever they come from. the taliban is recruiting here in america. wake up people ....

survival series

again its time to turn the clocks back one hour ... an extra hour of sleep? perhaps.. so welcome back to powderkeg, the rants and raves of a madman in a mad world gone nuts.

this episode is called the survivor series. one of many such episodes you'll see here in my blog.
i devote a lot of my free time outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. ive been a camper since i was three years old, camping out for the first time in the rockies in colorado and around the ozarks. ive got pictures of my dad and me in colorado, doing outdoor wilderness stuff. it was a lot of fun learning how to survive in the wilderness , digging out a snow cave shelter at age six in the worst blizzard to hit the north east in recorded history , gee ive had a fun life so far. so lets talk about wilderness survival in the winter time shall we. its easy to freeze to death . hypothermia is a real bad way to die. frostbite is no fun. take my advise, if you don't know how to survive in the outdoors during inclimate weather, stay inside, stay warm, drink a lot of hot cocoa and don't go out looking to get hurt or injured. cold weather isn't for sissies or uneducated blowhards who think they can figure it out. it takes knowlege , know how and brains to figure out what to do, when to do it and where to do it, and not everyone can build an igloo in less than 30 minutes . it takes practice and patience to do it, like every outdoor skill . time is important and failure is
expected the first few times until you half frozen brain catches on. walk ten miles your pant legs frozen up to your hips before you attempt to try any of this outdoors stuff.

insulated rubber boots.... if your feet are warm the rest of you is warm. a hat..you lose 45 percent of your body heat from your head . cover up ... gloves they are essential. i suggest thermal gloves. handwarmers blow up too easily and can burn the daylights out of your hands,
so id vote no on them . in cold windy conditions. layers are what protect you from windchill.
outer layer needs to be a nylon windbreaker over a thermal layer over a fleece layer over a flannel layer . me i wear sweats and fleece over the sweats and then i have a nylon coat that serves as a winter coat and windbreaker with a wooby hat. i wooby warm

Survival series

this year we've overcome some hard things and this winter will be a difficult one for all. the economy is down, gold is up , so buy small lots of gold in chains rings etc to ensure if the big one hits you can afford to survive. food is also something i urge folks to stock up on especially now since prices are rising , what ever you can afford. , dry goods , beans, noodles, freeze dried stuff, hickory and oak chips for smoking and curing meats , salt, another commodity and sugar , non dairy creamer, with venezuala and iraq buddy buddy, coffee might be hard to come by, stock up on it if you drink it. , freeze dried coffee, instant coffee , whole bean or grind...

hunters, buy ammo, if you can get it in bulk, buy it. ive learned to reload my own using hand poured lead cast bullets, i cast myself , gear up honchos, its gonna get worse before it gets better.
maybe i have got a good point to get across, if something bad happens, be prepared

survival foods. expensive , mre's costly. distilled filtered water...really expensive.. cold storage...hard to find unless you have a basement or a cave thats dry and has no mice or rats.

so here is the smart way to go..use your head. prepackaged foods can be placed in a sanitized
pickle bucket and the lid snaps down to keep it from pests . you can store freeze dried foods or
dehydrated foods in buckets as well and water, invest in a hand pump for your well and boil the
water as neede. distilled water, use a lengthof hose atop your pressure cooker ...viola distilled from
steam water... smoked meats such as beef and fish are fun to make and provide fast protein

proteins fats and carbs, water and air are what the human body needs to survive. invest in a smoker. i did and i'll have jerky for years and years to come oak hickory , pecan make the best smoke ..look on youtube for how to smoke meats or go to the library and read a book

today is monday and its late at night and my heart is heavy and im praying for the family of a

police officer that was shot last week and died this evening . i send them my condolences and

urge others to remember them in their prayers.

im not a racist. but , this is a case of a black perpetrator killing one officer, and shooting

another . the perp was shot fatally negating the need for a trial. saving the taxpayers a lot of

money for housing, feeding , clothing another criminal in the jail, a lengthy trial, a public

defender, and other costs...i see the perps family is trying to raise funds for his burial, and i

feel sorry for them, but i wouldnt contribute to their cause not one single dime...

all too often criminals kill innocent people or police officers doing their jobs. the perps ex was

the intended target for this man's anger. i cant say i understand this man's despair because

he intended to kill her, i believe , you dont carry a gun without the intent of using it.

i carry a gun, the hunting kind, and this crime reflects on all legal law abiding gun owners.

news like this, gives the anti firearms gun grabber fodder...

again my prayers go out to the family of the injured and the slain officer

Sunday, September 27, 2009

its sunday september 27th at 8;30 am im sad to say im still not where i want to be physicaly, having no sleep once more . the rings under my eyes have their own set of rings ... anyhow its the lords day. god bless the faithful and meek and please pray for each other ..

Lord we humbly ask for your help and your guidance this day and tomorrow and on through the years to come. this planet

which thou has given to us to be stewards over , well its a mess. its all a mess, our lives are a mess and we are lost without you and your son jesus our savior , who is coming soon , we pray. amen

strength is knowing that faith in god is a sure thing

faith is our way of saying we lack strength to do what is right all the time

wisdom , it comes from god from his mouth given to us so we may discern good from evil and understand what god wants us to do

proverbs 2; 6

lift your eyes up to heaven and ask for salvation, through the blood of the slain christ , who by the shedding of his blood, we have

recieved everlasting life , and by his stripes we are healed and made whole

praise god from who all blessing flow

its god's kingdom and you shall serve no other god but him

today is saturday the 26th of september and it is one very rainy cloudy day here in the central highlands of

north carolina. ive not written much lately due to an illness, rocky mountain spotted fever. . .

i was placed in the hospital and had a drug reaction which combined with the fever nearly ended my

life. i had a heart spasm during my stay , not quite a heart attack , but it sure felt like a heart attack to me.

any way, i survived to tell about it. and folks, injectable doxycycline in the liquid form hurts like hell when take in

an iv fashion it burns worse than hellfire .

so im home now, having missed the first two weeks of the hunting season i am still weak and fighting back to get my strength

back . i lost 23 lbs and still have the shakes in my left hand . for those folks who prayed for me, i appreciate it so much . i hope that

yaway blesses you and your families throughout the fall and winter months to come bubba

its 130 in the morning here in central where ever it is .

whatever time it is where ever it is you are i hope you are happy..

friday aug 14th at o5:09 am

black powder hunting is also called muzzle loading or flintlocking. i prefer

to hunt with my percussion ball and cap sidelock rifle , a fifty caliber rifle

using a patched .489 round ball . it is the bare essence of hunting and it has

put a lot of good meat on my table . i tried the plastic sabot method of this

type of hunting, but the plastic does a bad number on the rifling of the gun,

so i've gone back to the cloth patch and beeswax method.

my recipe is this:

1 5 oz bar of beeswax

2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil or olive oil

1 ounce of lanolin

when melted down i can lubricate my patches and bullets

also its a good idea to heat the oil first to boil off any water that might be in it.

i carry my patches, pre lubed in a tin taken from altoids. the mints i eat to disguise

my breath and they sub for a smoke ,,,

i measure out my 80 grains of pyrodex, and pour it in the barrel . then i put a moistened lubed patch

over the muzzle and place the bullet on top and seat it in the muzzle and then ram it home, with even

pressure until the ball and patch are seated atop the powder in the bottom of the barrel. then i cock it

and place the percussion cap onto the nipple and slowly let it down to half cock position and im ready

to cock it and fire it at a moments notice when a deer walks by me . i use the iron sights to aim and aim

just behind the notch in the shoulder behind it and up an inch and slowly pressure the trigger until it

drops onto the cap and the gun goes boom. usually the buck jumps and runs a few feet and drops down

onto the ground and kicks as it tries to get to it's feet but cant . then it twitches and kicks for a bit and

then it's all over for him.

Survival series

Survival series part one. trying to make it in the middle of the wilderness

I got the best book on survival in the wilderness . It the best book on being

prepared . it shows you how, gives you good advice and lets you learn on your own

its the old boy scout field manual . learn to start a fire, cook a meal, hunt down grubs

and spear fish . tells you how to navigate by compass and the stars. it teaches leadership

and it gives you the beginnings of a moral compass. the bible is the other guide you need .

the real world

Recently i saw in the ng adventure series about how to survive just about any thing . i was not impressed.

i mentioned it to someone and they said they had read it as well and commented on how well written the article was

but said they missed the point of survival in real life situations except for the article on avalanches. I had to agree.

but seriously folks, survival depends more on using your head than having a backpack full of gadgets that probably

wont work worth beans under stressful conditions.

being out in the wilderness is hard to do. it takes brain power to learn to adapt to a place other than your favorite

chair watching football on a monday night.

learning how to build a fire using a flint and steel is not in our genetic makeup. knowing what to do when you come

face to face with a bear doesnt come from watching the tube. you have to use your noggin. learning to use a

compass is easier than using a new fangled gps system. sure they are nice (and expensive) but they dont work

when the battteries are dead and you forgot to bring spares...

i went out and learned from my mistakes. i nearly lost my life on a hunting trip because i almost forgot to do two

things. try an ice storm in the mountains in april. i made it because i figured it out, kept my cool and found

adequate shelter in time...

peace and love

today is friday still and its 31st of the month still

seems most likely to effect their safety and happiness prudence indeed will dictate, that governments long established
should not be changed for light and transient causes.... but when the long train of abuses and usurpations produces invariably
the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty to throw off such
government and to provide new guards for their future security........

how true how true. thank you mr jefferson , you hit the nail on the head there...

Thursday, July 30, 2009

greetings to those who are like minded. today is friday the last day of july 2009 and it is 1:18 am .

ive decided not to rant and rave about the inefficiency and screw ups i see in the government

of this country or the stupidity i see from day to day. i have decided to try a different approach

and instead i will just leave it alone. it doesnt need my help to collapse into a pile of steaming shit,

its doing that all on its own. and there is not one blessed thing i can do to prevent it or put a

stop to it. ... so instead ive decided to make my objections and take my objections to the

good god fearing , religious hugging, gun clinging americans . boy did we have a good go of it.

our democracy and freedom has lasted for over 230 years. thats a lot longer than any nation

on this earth can boast of. take china. they have always had tyrants and then communism.

russia, it had czars and bolshevics , england still has a queen , and america has an obama

and the bailouts of the banks, insurance giants and the aut industry. yet with all this so called

bailout money, you cant buy a new car without a loan, you cant get a loan from a bank, and

the insurance companies try to screw you out of any settlement you are entitled to.

WHY?????

Because you are not worthy, my fellow americans. that is why. soon the banks will take your money

and some regulation will say they don't have to give it back.

and they are going to FINE you for not having health insurance.

EXCUSE ME

When did it become a CRIME to be poor and not be able to afford health insurance???

son they will bring back debtors prisons then god help all of us.

Take my advice. get rid of all tangiable debt. tear up your credit cards, build yourself

a bunker in the hills somewhere in the middle of nowhere, buy up all the ammo you can find

and open your bibles and start praying and reading. do not rely on the government for any

reason. home school your kids and refuse to pay for services you do not use, as far as taxes are concerned

taxes are non negotiable. vote for a fair tax and get information on FAIR TAX . org

instead of being a problem, become a problem solver . teach your children well

grab a grape and eat it. read to a child . vote yes for plausable change and not for corporate

handouts, protect yourself and your god given rights and dont let anyone pursuade you into giving

your rights up under the guise of security

Monday, June 15, 2009

today is monday june 15th. 2009... iran is in turmoil, predictable and not surprising. the whacko in charge there claims victory and riots erupted. i say "yes, take back your country by force if necessary. revolt and kill the pretenders and the clerics who wish to impose a backwards way of life on you...i have to laugh ... i read once the the ayatollah khameni once ruled it was okay to have sex with your neighbors chicken, but you should not tell the neighbor about it, and dont eat the chicken after you have sexual relations with it....he's such a funny guy. Khameni and abuminijab and barack hussein obama, the three ringleaders

haaa i knew it

well doesn't that make you wonder a bit... the prez now says he is muslim. not that this is a bad thing , but before the election he tried to distance himself from any mention that his muslim background, and now that he's gone over to egypt and the mid east, he embraces it..sort of makes me wonder how trustworthy the man really is . so far he's batting a thousand , pork barrel spending, big bonuses to corporate greed, bailouts of rich folks who never worked a day in their live, and a racist supreme court nomination , i mean justice sodamajor certainly sounded racist in her comments to me. .. im an equal opportunity bigot, yes. i admit it. everyone gets it from me. i don't pull any punches . a person has to show me what they are made of. the prez certainly has shown me his true nature in what he's done, said and will do ...and we are in trouble...
yes i embrace my guns and religion, because when it comes down to it , the bottom line, i trust in my lord god, his son jesus christ, and mr sam colt. not one of them have ever let me down.
its a sure thing. i always go with a sure thing. ...

now onto better things. trust and obey, for there is no other way. ...

raining for 4 more days here

it's spring, yes its spring, the dandelions are popping out the pear trees are budding and its going to rain again. ...well today is wednesday mar 25th at 2:40 pm local time and i went to town and started my netting projest in earnest. i have 4000 feet of heavy duty thick thread and will complete the weaving of the net in 5 days. it takes me twenty minutes for each row and the net is sturdy enough to be used as camouflage netting for hunting. my spellcheck is still on spring break, but you can't spell either so i wont worry to much if i flub a word.

wow it's really gotten cold out. yesterday was a great day to be outside, but today its all changed. the forecast is for rain the next 4 days. im cool with it. so let me get back to my nets

peace all.

greetings readers, another dayhas passed and more unanswered questions from the prez . imagine a world where people actually answer questions about the economy without the
hedging around. the american people realize the economy is in the toilet mr prez and it will take time to straighten things out, we understand that. what we want to know is whats being done about it. you mince too many words for me. you dont provide answers to simple questions . and quit saying you inherited the problem for god's sake the democrats had everything to do with this , and your denial and lack of character is wearing thin with many of us. myself included.
stop trying to point the finger of blame . it doesnt work and we aren't buying it. congress is to blame, democrats and republicans are to blame and you dont have the wisdom or experience to see beyond your own ambitions... enough is enough. you stand there and smile at the cameras
and do nothing. a man would be worried if he were in your shoes. its a major disaster and its only going to get worse unless you get the right people to make the decisions, because clearly, you are a beginner at this and your lack of experience is leading us down the wrong path. my advise is this. let a few banks fail. don't bail them out. . prosecute the greedy bastards who are responsible, toss them in prison , take everything they have and make them pay for the damage they've done don't reward them with bailout money, dont let them whiss and moan because bad thing will happen to them , while they are cheating the taxpayers of this country and stealing
us blind. . take action. that's why some people elected you. do your job.

so that's pretty much it for today . unless the good lord decides to take me. I'll be back soon, and report on the progression of the week. god bless neal bortz, michael savage and others who dare speak the truth about the obama regime and their ilk

writing as my way

i love to write. im working on a series of stories. WSHTF stories. and a crime drama. its funny that sometimes the stories write themselves a lot more than i create. i resist the temptation to make the love scenes obscene, but more believable, but there are secrets that even i dont share.

im also thinking about an adventure of two young people brought together by circumstances beyond their control in the late 1700s , and i've pieced together some of the family history to draw upon. it is fun to figure these things out on my own using my imagination to fit the intricate pieces together in to a story that's fun to read and believable.

now lets get serious. its saturday march 21st and its 112o pm here . today was a long day but i had a lot to do. i spent the day in carrboro, checking out townsends for gear for the trip in less than two weeks coming up. i decided to haul my own water in and not buy a purifier or the clorinated hydroxided tablets. they sell for an arm and a leg, so be it. i did get a pretzel at katies and a great cup of coffee. the elmo's crowd was loud and obnoxious as they always are. ive never seen so much phoniness in all my days.
at weaver street, i was assaulted by obama maniacs trying to get a petition to ban al firearms. i pointed out to one of the maniacs that i didn't support obama or any of his ilk. she about went ballistic on little old me. what was i? a criminal??? screw you lady.

any way i got us home and cooked beef stew for dinner. home made with fres vegetables using shank steaks . yum

hot shooting

hi its me once again. today was a nice day after a bad storm overnight. today is march 20th 2009 and it's about 4 pm.
i took my 44 caliber black powder pistol out and target practiced with it for an hour earlier in the day. I had a great time shooting hot loads at the target. i make my own targets using my paint program on the computer. im not a quickdraw or anything like that, but i do strive for accuracy when i shoot. i also get my bullet moulds from england. from jeff tanner.

jeff.bulletmoulds@talktalknet.com

just tell him bob sent you. he specializes in round balls and cannon balls. imagine that. Ive bought 3 molds from him in the past few years and ive never been disappointed by any of his products

i didnt do too bad. i scored ten shots at 98, nine in the x ring and one low in the 8 ring. the low one i pulled down on for some reason. anyway it was fun to get outside for a bit...

my goodness its been a lovely day, sunny, warm and breezy. today is march 19th, 2009 and its 1:38 pm and ive had a busy morning. i took my lab to the vet today for her rabies shot. shes in fairly good health except shes got worms again. ewwww!

so anyway. i 've written about politics all this time. my wife wants me to call a truce. okay. i said. if obama does something good, ill mention it here.-> nope, nothing,

im pretty much geared up for my trip next month. food, tools. etcetera... today ill check my ammo and pack it for the trip. ive been working on a new thin. a cloth sabot for my black powder rifle. the sabot will hold #2 shot, a turkey load. . i patch bullets, .488 round balls for it. it's an experiment, for sure. but hey you have to use what the good lord gives you to get what you need.

penny, my lovely wife took the day off for personal reasons. she's gone to town to the library. shes taking a professional writers course at Duke u. always looking for the education, im proud of her, very proud. she wants to use the library's high speed internet. we are so far back in the sticks we are victims of dialup isp...

so its about my naptime. yes i take a nap sometimes. it keeps me from being grumpy and grouchy. ... yeah right..

i'll do more later this evening. and if you see my brother jeff in the seneca south carolina area, kick him in the shin for me.. he'll figure it out.

im back ... its now thursday at 1206 am. lets talk turkey .

im planning a trip in april around the10th through the 15th, to the birkhead mountain area not far from here. I'll set up camp, get things together and go hunting for turkey on the opening day. birkhead mountain is a lovely place in the uwharrie national forest . its really wilderness , wild and untamed and i have spent many a day and night there during deer season the past few years. i like to hunt. it gets me out of house and out in the fresh air, and it takes my mind off the everyday mundane things. my worries seem to disappear when im out there , even if i don't see anything, its worth the effort. yes im still sick, but ive decided that i 'm not going to give up yet. while im there i can pan for gold, and dig for rubies if i am so inclined, i once found a few arrowheads near hannahs creek, much to my surprise . ive already started loading up my gear, just a few things i may need to
get me through a 5 day trip. food, water, and sundries..

my people were pioneers, a lot of folks cant make that claim. my family headed out west settling in the midwest, amidst indians and unknown dangers in the pre 1800s . my family tree tells
me that my first ancestors here in this country came to virginia and immediately moved west after the revolutionary war was over {the Ford side of the family} . the other side of the family were fleeing the potato famine in eire (Ireland) later in the mid 1800s. I remember writing the story of the pioneers in school when i was in living in new york and my teacher didn't believe a word of it. sorry teacher, i wasn't a fresh off the boat, looking for a place to hang my hat kind of kid, i was an original american, with roots as far back as the revolutionary war, my people fought and died for life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. that was more than any of my class mates could say. one of my ancestors died in a battle during the french and indian war. a brother of my direct descendant it seems.... my point is i have a claim to this country, a claim to this heritage and a claim to its future.
it's my birthright, and bought and paid for with blood sweat and tears.

so i guess you can see now why im so angry, so bitter and disillusioned about things going on.

a long time ago the railroads built up and joined the east and the west. the railroad company set two trains and moved them across the country back in the 60s to commemorate the meeting of east and west. i was at the ceremony and held the gold spike as they drove it in . i was a part of the history , just another kid , but i was the one they picked.because i was there , i had the birthright,
the heritage and the history to be a part of it. my picture was in a lot of papers across the country
the next day. my name was there. i was the kid holding the gold railroad spike. i was proud to be an american that day and for many days to come. i think i was five years old at the time. and i'll tell you something, I made my parents proud that day. now look at me... over fifty, no job no hope, sick, and the worst thing of it all, my heart is broken to see my country in this sort of shape.

America needs to wake up, dust itself off and get back into the game . We've got to pull together as a nation. there are people out there that want us dead, and they are not, I repeat , not going to
stop until they try to succeed in killing us. As ugly as that might sound, its the truth. If you don't
believe me, ask osama what he wants to do to america . he wants us all to die. We need elected officials who have backbones , We need a president who thinks before he acts, and by the way mr. obama, you really should have thought it through before you handed over millions of our tax dollars to AIG and the other greedy bums in our midst. and the appropriations bill you passed, full of pork
bacon and lard, another mistake. You've failed us twice now mr president. if you were working for my company, i'd fire you as being incompetent ... but that's just me. i didn't vote for you so i can't blame myself . You are accountable now. but i'll have to be honest about it. i don't think you are wise enough to make the right decisions . you haven't made any good choices that i can see so far. why should you change????
greetings all. today is march 18th 2009 and its 10 pm local time. the sun came out again today but it was foggy and dreary again this morning. today in the world the sun came up and went down. congress says aig needs to return the bonus money or they take it from them...looks like the government is no longer here to serve the people, but make demands on the people. it was our money used in the bailouts. i think the people that approved the bailout ought to be the ones to pay. not the taxpayers. they are responsible arent they? or was it. "it wasnt my job" or "It
wasn't on my watch" ... yeah go ahead and point the finger at someone. ive already expressed myself using a finger . Yes im an american, im unemployed, unemployable because of my age and my health. And i get nothing. I don't collect unemployment, i don't collect disability, becuse i don't want to have to pay some blood sucking greedy lawyer to get disability . so you see where i am, i can't buy health insurance either, so go figure. My health, i have copd, emphasema or something like that. i smoked, yeah, i should have quit years ago, i cant walk like i used to. i have to use a chair when i go shopping and maybe this will be my last year on this earth. i may live ten more years but i doubt i'll want to . but i fight every day, hoping and praying for something that will help me along the way. i dont want a handout. just a hand every now and then.

so young people, dont waste your lives on cigarettes, booze or other things. eat your spinach, say your prayers and keep your guns close by. haaa. obama said we cling to our religion and our guns. yer damned tooting buddy ...

when its all we have between life and death, i'd rather have god and my gun at my side.

so i guess that makes me a bad person... wrong answer. i never set out to hurt a soul in this world, and ive done some good, helped poor people when they needed it, fed people when they didn't have food, and ive given money to causes, public tv, cancer research, and have never asked for one thing in this world but some peace and quiet every now and then. Ive watched over the past years with concern, ive seen a lot of bad things and a lot of bad people. ive seen em come and go. my point is this. some people are downright evil. some are as mean as a snake.
for all the good it does, im glad i got a chance to blog. i wont be famous. i wont get rich, but hey. i like rc cola, i like mcdonalds double cheeseburgers and bo jangles biscuits. since i don't drink alcohol. i cant reccommend anything along those lines. ciao

wrapup of the days events monday march 16th

here we are at the close of another day . the economy is obviously in ruins, the president made promises he couldn't keep and the congress should be horsewhipped. on the brighter side. i connected with a few friends on facebook over the past weeks and was surprised to find out how their lives had turned out. after 34 years of being out of touch, i found some of it refreshing.
one of my daughters died fifteen years ago today. it has been on my mind, off and on all day. felicity margaret would have been a beautiful young lady had she survived. she was killed by strep B, a killer of newborns. i've always imagined that my days would have turned out a lot differently had she and her sister ariel had survived. Ariel died on my birthday October 23rd, a year later from strep b as well. its a nasty bug that attacks the newborne and it kills or seriously damages them. maybe it was god's plan that they didn't survive. I do not know.

aig and bonus money

it seems to me the insurance industry is controlled by greed. aig wants to pay bonuses to those that have caused the system to fail. BOGUS ... so have you ever tried to reach a settlement with an insurance agency? i bet you had to hire an attorney didnt you. why? because the insurance companies aren't there to pay out money for claims. they are there to rip you off. the more money they take in, the richer they get. and by law we are forced to have coverage if we drive a vehicle.. again forced upon us by legislators, lawyers judges and the legal ilk. legislated without a single thought to how we, the consumer are to pay for it.

listen, our economy is in bad shape. unemployment is up, prices are up, the oil companies take advantage of us. and out there the politicians are in the pockets of big business. the new president promised change, but he signed a bill recently with so much pork in it that i feel like I've been lied to. go figger... me , I've lost my job, can't seem to get hired in my field and my
health has suddenly changed. after you hit fifty, these things sort of sneak up on you and bite you in the ass, and i dont have health insurance because i can't afford it. and i didn't recieve any unemployment benefits because i left my job under circumstances which don't allow me to recieve benefits. travelling six hundred miles a week for work was hard on me, the gas tank and my budget.

POWDERKEG

Hi this is my blog . I call it the powderkeg, because there are many issues that are explosive these days. The bailouts, the bonuses, the way we live, what rights we'll give up to be safe, the illusion that government will provide for us and knows what is best. i offer my insights into things. And while i would never presume to be correct about these issues we face, i feel like someone needs to say something. Given the circumstances and the rhetoric we have to endure I believe its time to grow a pair, get a voice , and say something.
